Zhi-Min Yuan,1993年獲得美國馬里蘭大學(xué)生物化學(xué)博士學(xué)位,之后到哈佛醫(yī)學(xué)院Dana-Farber癌癥研究所任研究助理,1994年升為講師,1998年轉(zhuǎn)到哈佛大學(xué)公共衛(wèi)生學(xué)院癌癥細胞生物學(xué)部任助理教授,2003年晉升為遺傳與復(fù)雜疾病學(xué)部副教授,2008年轉(zhuǎn)到德州大學(xué)圣安東尼奧健康科學(xué)中心癌癥放射療部任放射生物學(xué)系負責人、教授,2012年后回到哈佛公共衛(wèi)生學(xué)院遺傳與復(fù)雜疾病學(xué)部任教授,近期已在SCI雜志上發(fā)表幾十余篇學(xué)術(shù)論文。
報告簡介:
Functional characterization of the p53 pathway has been a major research area of my laboratory for more than 10 years. Apart from the characterization of signals and pathways important for p53 regulation, we’ve also investigated the biological function of p53 under normal and pathological conditions. Our understanding of p53 biology has reached to the point where we are actively conducting translational research to explore the therapeutic potential of p53. Our research also involves the DNA damage responses, radiation-induced response in particular. We are interested in elucidation of the signaling mechanisms that regulate cellular response to stress and in examining how stress is converted into intracellular signals that control cell behavior in the context of carcinogenesis in general and breast cancer in particular. Our long-term goal is to gain a better understanding of the biology of carcinogenesis, which would then allow us to design effective strategies for prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer
